CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic) is a method of creating dental restorations at the office using special equipment. These restorations are typically used to repair damaged teeth from decay or fracture. One of the main advantages of Cerec is that dental work that typically requires multiple visits can be created and placed in a single appointment. This can be incredibly convenient for many as it limits the disruption to your schedule and the stress of multiple dental visits. The restoration created by the milling unit is also very accurate and allows us to maintain more control over the process.

Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF) is a product from your own blood that contains concentrated levels of your own growth factors. When the blood is centrifuged after the draw to concentrate the platelets, and through a chemical reaction, the release of the Growth Factors of these platelets is activated. Growth factors tell stem cells in the body to differentiate into different cells such as bone and tissue. This treatment is used to stimulate tissue healing and bone integration, decrease inflammation, improve post-operative processes, reduce the risk of surgical complications or rejection of implants, and improve the general health of damaged tissues and is used after a surgical process. Since PRGF is a product of your own blood there is no risk for disease transmission.

A 3D scan is the product of a special machine called a Cone Beam Computed Tomography(CBCT) machine. 3D dental imaging uses an X-ray arm that rotates around your head. While rotating, it captures multiple images and sends them to a computer where the computer puts the images together in a 3 dimensional format.This machine allows the dentist to see tissues in addition to bones, roots, gums, nerves, & airways & how all of these structures relate to each other. 3D imaging gives a better, more accurate picture of your mouth & requires much less radiation than traditional x-rays. We typically use it to plan the placement of implants.
